Review
I have followed the Cy De Gerch stories for years, generally in Australian science fiction magazines. I’ve always liked the stories of this very young, purpose bred, Martian warrior, and her various travails, both physical and emotional. These stories continue in this novel, which length really gives author Kennett the chance to explore Lieutenant De Gerch’s psyche. It is a Robinson Crusoe-type story, with an unusual stand-in for Friday. There is conflict, adventure and introspection. Kennett is a good writer in both long and short form and deserves a wider audience. – NYC Reader
